This is the life...

Kids say the darndest things, and Ben is one of those kids. Over the past couple of weeks, the kids had been looking forward to the new freeway opening near our neighborhood. The city hosts a block party of sorts for new stretches of the freeway and they wanted to ride their bikes on the new pavement. After a couple of weeks of waiting, I announced it was time to pack the bikes and go. Excitedly, Ben raced down the stairs, raised his pointed finger in the air and shouted, "this is the life I've been waiting for!" We think he meant to say the he'd been waiting all of his life for this event (afterall, a couple of weeks can seem like a lifetime for these little kids) but it's nice to know that he and his sisters can be content with the relatively simple things in life. Would that we all could do the same!
